Eddy Gordo

Eddy was teased all the way back in January before Tekken 8's release. Fans were excited to see him return and more mechanics being added to play him such as his new install that grants him access to new moves. Since Eddy was made even easier to play than he already was with the addition of his "3" button sequence, many legacy fans were not very interested in playing him and he was not as popular as the DLC characters in Tekken 7.

The Disastrous Patch

Eddy was added in Patch 1.03 which was quite literally a patch full of disasters. Many things went wrong, one of which was nerfing Azucena's WR3,2 attack but it was accidentally made stronger since now sidestepping it resulted in her being too far away from the defender and she resulted in being completely safe despite being evaded. Another change was nerfing Devil Jin's Heaven's Gate but instead of nerfing Heaven's Gate the developers changed it universally that every time an opponent is in a low state near the wall the stage mechanics would deactivate. This led to characters such as Kazuya being indirectly nerfed.

Patch 1.05 and 1.06

The latest patches have proved to be very well received from the Tekken community. With patch 1.05 nerfing homing command throws and removing tracking from Heat Bursts, players are very satisfied with these changes. The patch also buffed some characters that were not performing well such as Kazuya, Paul and Bryan. Along with this, characters that were very strong such as Feng received some amount of nerfs as well however other strong characters such as Alisa and Dragunov have been left untouched which might be the only complaint the players have about the game now. The next patch 1.06 will be releasing on 25th July 2024 and will add a new stage and character Lidia Sobieska to the game which has left players excited and patiently waiting.
