"A superstar in his own right at Tottenham"

Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min of the English Professional Soccer League (EPL) has been named by local media as one of the 50 greatest players of all time.

British media outlet '90min' published an article titled "EPL's All-Time Greatest Players" on Thursday (KST), first revealing the 41st to 50th positions. Ten players will be revealed each week, and Son Heung-min was the first to be named.

"As part of one of the most potent offenses in EPL history, Son was truly outstanding for Tottenham," the publication said, explaining that "while he was seen by many as a partner to Harry Kane (now at Bayern Munich), Son was a superstar in his own right for Tottenham."

"The South Korean striker won the league's top scorer award and was named the PFA Player of the Year for the past few years. He is now Tottenham's captain, leading the front line after Kane's departure and is still one of the best players in the league."

Son joined Tottenham in 2015 from Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga. He struggled in his early days with the club, but quickly adapted and became one of the team's signature players.

In particular, he became one of the EPL's most prolific strikers, scoring double-digit goals in seven consecutive league seasons from 2016-2017 to 2022-2023. In 2021-2022, he made history by scoring 23 goals to become the league's joint top scorer with Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).

He has scored eight goals in 12 league appearances this season, tied for third in the league with Jarrod Bojan (West Ham). He was also named the EPL Secretary's Player of the Month in September.

Above Son are David Ginola (49th-Tottenham-Newcastle-Aston Villa-Everton), Ian Wright (48th-Arsenal-West Ham), Edwin van der Sar (47th-Man United-Fulham) and Matt Le Tissier (46th-Southampton), Teddy Sheringham (45th-Nottingham-Tottenham-Man Utd-Portsmouth-West Ham), Jamie Vardy (44th-Leicester), Cesc Fabregas (43rd-Arsenal-Chelsea), Sol Campbell (42nd-Tottenham-Arsenal-Portsmouth-Newcastle), and Sadio Mane (41st-Southampton-Liverpool). 슬롯사이트
