The linearity of LLDPE results from the different manufacturing processes of LDPE and LLDPE. In general, LLDPE is formed at lower pressures and temperatures by copolymerization of ethylene. LLDPE is produced by copolymerization process which has a narrower molecular weight distribution than conventional LDPE.
