Son Heung-min (Tottenham) was recognized as the best ‘finisher’ in the English Premier League (EPL).

On the 4th (Korean time), Britain's Daily Mail cited soccer statistics specialist 'Opta' and selected the striker who produced the best results in the EPL. Based on expected goals (xG), players who scored more goals were listed, and among them, Son Heung-min took first place.

The Daily Mail explained, “Son Heung-min is the striker with the best performance this season,” adding, “He scored better than expected.”

Son Heung-min, who ranked first overall, scored 12 goals with 4.9 more goals than the xG of 7.1. Son Heung-min is tied for third in scoring in this season's EPL, following Erling Haaland (Manchester City) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool, 14 goals).

Son Heung-min proved his sharp finishing ability by scoring 5 more goals than expected, including 7.1 goals, through opportunity creation.

The media praised Son Heung-min, saying, “Son Heung-min performed like a storm, scoring 12 goals under coach Anger Postekoglou,” and added, “Harry Kane improved further after moving to Bayern Munich (Germany).”

The Daily Mail gave a thumbs up, saying, “Amid Son Heung-min’s outstanding performance, he has scored 3 goals, including 3 assists, in the last 5 games,” and “recorded an xG of 4.9 from 7.1.”

Klinsmann's striker Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton) also ranked third among strikers who showed excellent decision-making skills.

He has 10 goals, +4 over xG of 6 goals. The media said, “Son Heung-min and other Korean strikers have revived under the guidance of coach Gary O’Neill this season,” and “He has scored double-digit scores and is currently ranked 6th in EPL scoring.”

Hwang Hee-chan scored 4 more goals with an xG of 6, and has 2 goals and 1 assist in the last 2 games. He explained, “This is a huge improvement compared to last season when he scored only three goals in the league.”

Meanwhile, the runner-up who showed a better performance than xG is West Ham's Mohamed Kudus. Kudus scored 6 goals, +4.1 over xG1.9.

On the other hand, the number one player with poor decision-making ability was Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin. He only scored 3 goals with an xG of ?3.9 over 6.9. Second place was Darwin Núñez (Liverpool) with 5 goals, ?3.7 in xG 8.7. 19가이드03
