North Korea lost the women's football final against Japan 1-4 on Saturday (June 6) at the Huanglong Sports Center Stadium in Hangzhou, China.
Japan, which won gold at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games, won its second straight women's soccer title. It was their third title of the tournament, including a gold medal at Guangzhou 2010.
North Korea, which also won gold in Doha 2006 and Incheon 2014, had to settle for silver after being stopped by Japan. North Korea had previously defeated Colin Bell's South Korea 4-1 in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
The first half was a tight affair. Japan opened the scoring in the 10th minute through Yoshino Nagashima, but North Korea equalized in the 38th minute through Kim Yong-yong.
However, North Korea collapsed in the second half, conceding back-to-back goals to Japan's offense.
Japan took the lead 21 minutes into the second half when Haruka Osawa scored her second goal of the game. Momoko Tanigawa scored three minutes later to put the game out of reach.
Remina Chiba added a fourth goal in the 27th minute to seal the victory.
Meanwhile, in the women's soccer bronze medal match earlier in the day, China defeated Uzbekistan 7-0 to win the bronze medal. 스포츠토토링크
