The Taj is the most well-known Indian monument and was built through Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved third wife, Mumtaz Mahal who passed away during the birth of their child. The Taj was sadly, upon its completion in the year 1886, the Shah was executed by his son who sentenced him to live throughout his life in prison as he gazed at his creation from the outside of his cell window in Agra.
