The Gameplay of Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Thanksgiving Day

Once a year, on Thanksgiving Day (the fourth Thursday in November), Turkey Day (formerly known as the Harvest Festival before New Horizons) is celebrated. The event has changed over the course of the Animal Crossing series' various generations, and it is no longer available on all of them. In the most recent installment, New Horizons, the player's task is to collect all of the necessary ingredients to prepare a four-course meal in order to be granted access to exclusive crafting recipes in exchange for their efforts. The ingredients required vary depending on which hemisphere the island is located in.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Thanksgiving Day

A feastful festival takes place prior to New Leaf, but there is an ethical quandary between Franklin the turkey and Tortimer over claims of violating turkey rights, and it is the player's responsibility to gain Franklin's trust while also attempting to make Tortimer happy. When Franklin appears as a special chef guest in New Leaf and New Horizons, the player is tasked with gathering enough ingredients to prepare an excellent four-course meal for Franklin and the other guests.

The Harvest Festival, now known as Turkey Day, was included in the 1.6.0 Free Winter Update, which was made available to everyone. From 9 a. m. to 12 a. m. on Thanksgiving Day, a feast will be set up in the Event Plaza. Upon arriving at the location, Franklin, the NPC in charge, will request assistance in gathering ingredients that will assist him in preparing the feast. In exchange, he will provide the player with four unique Animal Crossing Items that cannot be created by the player.

Each of the dishes necessitates the use of specific ingredients to complete it. As a result, different Free Animal Crossing Items are produced for each of the four dishes that have been completed as a result of this. Following that, the player will have the option of providing Franklin with a secret ingredient once all of the recipes have been completed successfully. In total, the player will receive one of three items that are inspired by Thanksgiving, as well as the rest of the DIYs that are available.

In a similar vein to New Leaf, players must repeat the exact same process of obtaining the necessary ingredients from their villagers. villagers can trade a specific type of fish for a missing ingredient that they each bring to the table. Each of the villagers will be dressed in a chef's uniform when they return to their homes. In contrast to New Leaf, there are no ingredients that can only be obtained from villagers (such as vinegar and flour), because all of the ingredients required can be obtained in the same manner as they would normally be obtained.

How about Turkey Day in New Leaf?

When the player first starts the game in New Leaf, Isabelle will inform him or her that the Harvest Festival is taking place today. Franklin the turkey, as well as a large table containing a variety of kitchen utensils, will be waiting near the town tree for you. He asks the player if they would be interested in assisting him in obtaining some ingredients for his courses. There will be a salad, soup, main course, and dessert to choose from. For each of the four courses, the player will need to collect three ingredients as well as one secret ingredient. The player can find the majority of them on their own, such as fish, fruit, and mushrooms, but they will also require special items from the locals, such as vinegar, flour, and other such items. These can only be obtained by the player from the animals that reside at the player's residence, provided that the player provides them with what they desire and require for their own cooking (which is usually fish). They will then provide the player with cooking hints and tips, as well as the secret ingredient that pairs well with a particular type of dish. Villagers will provide the player with any ingredients that are missing from the player's inventory if requested. Deliver everything to Franklin, and he will get to work preparing the meal for everyone. Harvest furniture or a fruit basket will be given to the player as a thank you from him. If the player correctly identifies all four secret ingredients, he will reward them with a cornucopia at the conclusion of the game.
