What is PRAN in NPS?
The National Pension System (NPS) aims to provide retirement income and savings opportunities for all citizens. Introduced initially for government employees, it now includes a co-contributory pension program accessible to others. A PRAN card, issued by NSDL e-Gov, grants secure access to pension accounts, with a unique 12-digit number for each subscriber. Application for PRAN can be done online, requiring identity and address proof. NRIs can also apply, following similar procedures. Activation involves generating an OTP and completing necessary details online.
